Action4Youth News March 2025

March- All things new!

We are delighted to be introducing our new BOOST! programme, brand new for this Spring. We believe BOOST! will make a huge difference in developing the practical life skills of those young people least well served.

BOOST! is a personal development programme designed for secondary aged young people from SEND schools, Pupil Referral Units and alternative education provisions. Over five days it builds confidence, resilience and develops vital life skills whilst preparing for the world of work.

We deliver BOOST! across Bucks, Milton Keynes, Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead, Reading, Herts, Beds, Oxon and Northamptonshire. There are a range of flexible delivery options for the programme, get in touch to explore how this will work in your provision.

Summer Camps

Brand new for 2025, the young people at Camp Caldecotte! will be making life long memories, buildling friendships and having loads of fun.

Our 4 night, 5 day residential summer camps provide a fantastic experience for young people to experience a stay away from home in a safe, secure environment. They will participate in a varied programme that will develop life skills, whilst challenging them with a range of adventure learning activities such as paddleboarding, archery, climbing and stay in a festival style camping village. Our experienced staff will support them to take on new challenges.

We are an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award so the camp is the perfect residential for their Gold Award.

Forest School

Brand new at The Caldecotte Xperience from September 2025. Forest School is for those many primary school children who don’t currently have access to this way of thinking and this way of engaging with the environment.

More than ever, children need to engage with the outdoors for their mental and physical well-being.

Forest School offers a unique, nature-based approach to learning that provides children and young people with the freedom to explore, create, and develop essential life skills in an outdoor environment. Through carefully designed activities, the programme fosters independence, teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience.

The Breakout Programme

Breaking new ground with the Breakout Programme, delivering now in many different areas including Wokingham and Uxbridge.

A large number of young people like Katy are benefiting from the programme. We saw across the 12 weeks a huge improvement in Katy’s attitude from hostile and agressive at the outset to positive and engaged by the end. Breakout works to show the young people how their choices influence their future and in Katy’s case she now has a positive outlook for the future and improved life prospects.

Thank you to our funders

We are very grateful to have received funding to support our vital work with young people.

Heart of Bucks grants will enable us to deliver two BOOST! programmes to enhance young people’s life skills preparing them for the world of work and a Breakout Programme to vulnerable young people requiring an intervention for behaviour and who are susceptible to crime and more.

Milton Keynes Grand Union Rotary Club raised funds through The Extra Mile Challenge and made a generous donation.

The Rectory Foundation has funded a Breakout Programme.

The Rotary Club of Winslow has kindly donated funds to buy new furniture for the newly rennovated building at The Caldecotte Xperience.

The generosity of our funders will make a huge difference to the lives of young people who need it most.

How you can help…

We are extremely grateful to High Wycombe BID which has installed three Tap to Donate points in the town centre. These are based at the Swan carpark, White Hart Street and High Street in High Wycombe.

All proceeds will be channeled to us and support the delivery of the Breakout programme with the focus of keeping the streets safer.
