Sponsorship that celebrates achievement
NHBC has sponsored Action4Youth events that recognise young people’s skills and achievements, including Big Night Out (2022 and 2023) and Big Challenge Lunch (2024 and 2025), with 120+ young people taking part at each Big Challenge Lunch.
3
Employee volunteering at The Caldecotte Xperience
NHBC teams have carried out numerous volunteer days at The Caldecotte Xperience, supporting practical tasks such as painting, gardening, cleaning boats and setting up facilities.
The centre benefits c.12,000 children and young people each year, including 2,000 with disabilities, with inclusive facilities and trained staff that enable whole groups to participate with dignity and comfort.
4
In-kind support that strengthens long-term delivery
NHBC colleagues have contributed strategic support via the Caldecotte capital appeal project board, supported business experiences for young people through The Inspiration Programme activities, entered teams in Caldecotte Xperience events, and taken part in The Milton Keynes Marathon over a number of years. They have also been proactive in organising a number of their own events and initiatives to include The Big Step and a football tournament.
The impact
NHBC’s partnership has helped Action4Youth deliver earlier intervention, stronger employability skills, and inclusive outdoor learning — with support spanning direct programme delivery, celebration moments, and behind-the-scenes volunteering that keeps spaces welcoming and ready for young people.
