2025's Big Challenge!

On Wednesday January 29^th 2025 at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, schools’ teams from Milton Keynes and Bucks will once again compete for the Ultimate Challenge Cup, last year won by Sir Thomas Freemantle School. More schools will compete in 2025 and the competition will be even hotter! Last year Bucks’ schools triumphed over those from Milton Keynes so the 2025 competition is a chance to turn the tables.

Based on our highly successful Big Night Out, the all-new Big Challenge Lunch awards ceremony in 2024, that brought local children and young people together throughout Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes, to celebrate their achievements. The event was a hug success and included a Q and A with guest speaker, James Hildreth, individual recognition awards and a networking VIP lunch. The theme was ’employability and the future workforce’, a critical discussion point, given the importance of young people being confident and work-ready when they leave school.

As well as individual awards, schools shared the opportunity to raise the Ultimate Challenge Cup, for their council and win £1000 for their school! We congratulate Sir Thomas Fremantle who took first place for Buckinghamshire Council. Teams from Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire schools pitched against one and other across 8 challenge stations in a race against the clock for glory! 

The day included a delicious lunch, fun, games, creative-thinking and most importantly young people were celebrated! Sophie of AVA won the  Outstanding Achievement Award for her ‘The Inspiration Programme’ journey and Angelique from Sir Thomas Fremantle took the award for Exceptional Leadership.

As students headed off for a well-deserved rest, post 1pm, other guests from local business and community groups networked over a VIP working lunch and heard more from our speakers regarding the capital appeal to improve The Caldecotte Xperience facilities.
