Change creates fresh perspective for Established Youth Charity

Action4Youth, an established and energetic charity, which enables young people to challenge themselves through a number of recognised skills and experience programmes, including DofE, NCS, Young Leaders and Action4Youth’s very own The Inspiration Programme, has appointed a new Chair and trustees to its board.

Having supported children and teenagers, through coaching sports teams, mentoring and as a school governor, Action4Youth’s new Chair of Trustees, David Teasdale is no stranger to the challenges faced by, and the opportunities available to young people today. He also has a wealth of experience in leading executive roles at Mars Confectionary and Revlon.

Joined on the board by new trustees David Knox, Julia Hulme, Jonathan Dees and Nigel Field, there is now an impressive cross-section of professionals and an exciting array of skills and experience influencing the future of Action4Youth.

David Knox is Chief Executive of an independent economic research consultancy, The Lazarus Partnership. He is also a board member of McLean Advisory Ltd and Future Planet Capital (UK and Cayman).

Julia Hulme is Managing Director of a boutique international law firm which she co-founded with Cherie Blair CBE, QC. She was previously on the Women’s Board of Children in Crisis UK.

Jonathan Dees has held senior management roles at businesses including TripAdvisor and Zoopla and is now COO at Octopus Investments, an entrepreneurial financial services business which manages (amongst other things) one of Europe’s largest portfolios of renewable energy assets.

Nigel Field has a broad range of experience leading cross-functional teams to drive margin growth, operational efficiency and major business transformation. He has held senior positions in the telecommunications industry with Hutchison Whampoa and Three, most recently as Director of People Consulting.

Commenting on the changes to the board and his new role as Chair, Mr Teasdale told us: “I’m excited to have joined Action4Youth at such a pivotal time. There have been some fantastic foundations laid, particularly with the launch of Action4Youth’s personal and educational development programme, The Inspiration Programme.

“We’ve been busy restructuring the focus of the board and thinking strategically about the future objectives of the charity and we’re now in the enviable position of working towards taking The Inspiration Programme, and other key areas of the organisation, to the next level.”

Jenifer Cameron, Chief Executive of Action4Youth explains: “We are very pleased to welcome such an enthusiastic new chair and trustees to our board and look forward to working with them to grow the amazing work of our much loved youth charity.

“David’s experience working with young people, his passion for making a positive change to their futures and his career working with some of the biggest names in cosmetics and confectionary, made him the perfect fit for Action4Youth.”
