Thank you to MK Community Foundation for supporting our Youth Mentoring Programme in Milton Keynes

We are grateful to MK Community Foundation for its generous support of Action4Youth’s Youth Mentoring Programme in Milton Keynes. This funding helps us provide early-intervention support to young people who need a consistent, trusted adult alongside them as they navigate challenges at home, in school, and in day-to-day life.

Through the generosity of its fundholders and supporters, Milton Keynes Community Foundation sends funding to charities and projects that need it most. Our Mentoring Programme in MK is made possible in large part by Milton Keynes Community Foundation. Thanks to its donors, we can continue to provide 12-week, 1:1 mentoring that gives young people a safe space to talk, build coping skills and resilience, and get connected into positive pathways that support their interests and wellbeing.

What the funding helps make possible

Our Mentoring Programme is a free, 12-week, 1:1 programme for young people aged 11–17. It is designed to help young people stay on track and reach their potential, with sessions shaped around individual needs. Mentoring can support young people to develop confidence, resilience and practical coping strategies, as well as helping them access wider opportunities and local support.

Support like this enables young people to meet weekly with a mentor in a consistent, non-judgemental space, and to create personalised plans that help them move forwards. In a recent mentoring pilot supported through MK Community Foundation, all participating young people made progress in at least one area, with many improving in multiple areas.
