Run MK for Action4Youth

As the new year begins, many of us start looking for a goal that will push us a little further – something that feels challenging, exciting and genuinely worthwhile. The MK Marathon Weekend 2026 on 3–4 May is exactly that, and this year we are inviting you to make every mile matter by joining Team Action4Youth for either the 5k, half or full marathon.

Milton Keynes hosts one of the UK’s most popular running weekends, with a choice of full marathon, half marathon and 5k. Whether you are an experienced runner chasing a personal best or lacing up for your first organised event, there is a place on the start line for you – and a young person who will benefit from your effort.

An unforgettable weekend of running

The MK Marathon is known for its friendly atmosphere and stunning route. Runners wind their way through Milton Keynes’ lakes, parks, tree-lined boulevards and green spaces before enjoying an unforgettable stadium finish in front of cheering crowds.

The course is designed to be enjoyable as well as achievable. It is scenic, largely traffic-free and offers plenty of support along the way. If you are tackling your first marathon, it is a brilliant choice. If you are stepping up to the half, it is a big but realistic challenge. And if you are running the 5k, you will still be part of the same inspiring weekend, sharing the buzz and the sense of achievement.

When you sign up to run for Action4Youth, you are entering a race and joining a team of like-minded people who care about young lives and are prepared to put in the miles to support them.

Every mile changes young lives

Action4Youth works with thousands of children and young people each year across Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. Many of the young people we support are facing real challenges – low confidence, difficulties at school, lack of opportunities or additional needs that can leave them feeling isolated.

Through our programmes, including outdoor adventures, skills development, mentoring and targeted support, we help young people to build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging. We see young people who arrive unsure and anxious leave with their heads held higher, ready to take on what comes next.

By running the MK Marathon, Half Marathon or 5k for Action4Youth, you will be directly supporting this work. The money you raise could help a young person attend a programme at The Caldecotte Xperience, access mentoring at a crucial moment in their life or join activities that give them positive role models and new possibilities.

You will also gain a powerful personal experience. Training for and completing an event like this takes commitment, energy and courage – the very qualities we aim to nurture in the young people we support. Sharing your challenge and story with family, friends and colleagues helps to raise awareness as well as vital funds.

As part of Team Action4Youth, you can expect encouragement from our team, fundraising tips, and the knowledge that you are running for something bigger than a medal alone.
